On Monday, 16 August 2010, Professor Stanisław A. Mitkowski, Head of the Department of Electrical and Power Engineering at AGH University of Technology, Kraków, Poland, and the WIETE Director, visited the University of Pannonia in Veszprém, Hungary. The visitors were received by the University Rector, Professor Dr Ákos Rédey.

This visit allowed the visitors to become acquainted with the University, and to hold discussions on a wide range of topics of mutual interest concerning engineering and technology education. They also considered the formulation of potential activities and ventures that might be conducted jointly in the future. The University was recently awarded the title of Excellent University by the Hungarian Education Ministry of Culture for its outstanding performance. Later in the day, Prof. Rédey hosted a dinner in honour of the visitors, at which participants exchanged views on many international issues relevant to their areas of interest, in a lighter atmosphere.
